Fitness update...

Just wanted to check in and let everyone know how I’m doing with my fitness efforts. I have been on my new diet since January 7th and I have now entered a new week of exercises. Everything is getting more intense and the workout is now taking longer to do. My main goal is to get into shape by my birthday, which is March 3rd. If I obtain my goal of losing about 30 lbs. or 4 pants sizes, I will have a big party.

My measurements as of now are:
  • Bust: 45
  • Waist: 46 1/2
  • Hips: 50 1/2
My goal measurements are:
  • Bust: 36
  • Waist: 24
  • Hips: 40
I haven’t seen any real results visually, but I feel lighter and I have more energy. Also, I noticed that I have been eating more. Maybe my metabolism is getting faster. I’m proud of myself and I’m glad that this is working. If anyone has any tips please leave a comment.

Thanks for reading.

Lifestyle change...

Like many other people I have created a New Year’s resolution for myself which included, losing weight and stopping all destructive habits. I really came up with this idea after the first, but better late than never, right? One thing I wanted to make clear is that I’m not on a “diet”. I’m just trying to monitor what I eat, look at habits that may need to be changed, and incorporate more healthy foods into my diet.
So far, I have been exercising every other day since January 7th. I’ve also been monitoring what I eat and drink since the 10th. Generally what I try to do is eat low calories one day and higher calories the next. I read somewhere that this actually helps to rev up your metabolism. Next, I will give you a breakdown of what I’ve been eating and drinking:
Day 1: January 10th, 2011 (High Calorie)
Breakfast:
·        2 Waffles
·        5 Turkey sausages
·        2 tbsp. Syrup (on waffles)
·        ½ tsp. Butter (on waffles)
Snack:
·        Frosted Mini Wheat Cereal w/ 2% milk
Lunch/Dinner:
·        2 large Hamburgers (when I say large I’m not playing, my stomach hurt for hours, I don’t suggest over eating.)
·        Onion rings
Water tally: 5/ 16oz. bottles  Fruit Tally: 1 serving  Vegetable Tally: 2 servings
Day 2: January 11, 2012 (Low Calorie)
·        1 Banana
·        2 salads
·        1 yogurt
·        2 bowls of cereal
Water tally: 5/ 16oz. bottles  Fruit Tally: 3 servings  Vegetable tally: 4 servings Tea tally: 1 cup peppermint tea (good for digestion)
So, this is what I have been doing every other day and it’s so easy. As far as exercising I walk around the block at a brisk pace for about thirty minutes jogging here and there. I am also doing an exercise plan that's in one of my Prevention magazines. Later on I will provide before and after pictures also check out my YouTube channel for updates. The videos will be up soon. I will update everyone when they are available and I will give my YouTube channel name.

Let’s talk obstacles…

Okay, so for some reason every time I try to do something productive something tries to get in my way. I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s the fact that I think something is going to get in my way so little things seen like bigger problems than what they are. Just a theory. So, after I explain my journey thus far to create a YouTube channel and add posts to my blog you be the judge…
1.      First off, the blog…when I initially typed my introduction I typed it directly to my blog. BIG MISTAKE.  Everything I typed got erased. So, now I type everything in word first. (Thanks to the advice of my hubby.)
2.    Next, I tried to record a video for YouTube and the lighting sucked.  After doing the best I could with the lighting I recorded the video anyway. It took about an hour to edit the video so…after it was done only half the video saved. RIDICULOUS RIGHT!
3.    Anyway, OK so take two on the video…my husband got some work lights from Wal-Mart. This is after we researched what type of inexpensive lights will substitute for professional lighting.

4.    So we got the lights, after reading the directions I realize that these lights may be a bit dangerous because you aren’t supposed to touch the light bulb with your bare hands. This could damage the bulb and after handling the light PERIOD you must wash your hand because the lights contain harmful chemicals. Weird right? We’ve put the lights together and go to plug it in and we see and hear the electricity come out of the socket. So, my husband immediately took them back. We weren’t trying to burn our house down to make a YouTube video. When he gets back he has another set of lights.

5.     OK, so we have a new set of lights and these lights don’t emit right color of light so it makes everything look weird. So we’re going to keep researching before I do my videos. Although, I got some good advice from one of the people I’m subscribed to (Nitraab), so that really helped. I’m determined to get the best footage I can get out of my camera so I’m not giving up.

So, that’s enough of my ranting. Thanks for reading:)
